A big welcome to Jasen Ly and Jason Donovan as new Medical Trustees

The Braemar Charitable Trust is delighted to welcome two new Medical Trustees to the Trust Board. Jasen Ly is a General and Colorectal Surgeon with sub-specialty interest in colorectal surgery, endoscopy and laparoscopy ,and Jason Donovan, an Orthopaedic Surgeon with sub-specialty interest in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Foot and Ankle. Jasen and Jason replace retiring Medical Trustees Anaesthetist, Rob Carpenter and General and Colorectal Surgeon, Ralph van Dalen, both of whom have retired by rotation, after making a significant contribution to the Trust Board over the last 6 years. Thank you Rob and Ralph, for creating such a strong platform for success and for shaping the organisation we know today.

Jasen and Jason are active members of the Waikato community, both with young families and are looking forward to further improving health outcomes, through their role on the Braemar Charitable Trust. Jasen Ly is looking forward to the opportunity to contribute on a larger scale than he could otherwise and said "the prospect of being able to do more for the community is exciting and a worthy cause to which I would very much like to contribute to enthusiastically".

One of the reasons Jason is interested in joining the Trust is having observed over the last 10 years of practice, an "increasing disparity between private and public in terms of access to surgical care". Jason is keen to assist us identify how the Braemar Charitable Trust can be used as a vehicle "to treat patients that otherwise would not meet threshold for public surgical care".

We are very excited to have the "Jason/en's" as part of the team and look forward to the significant contribution we know they will make to improving health outcomes in our community.
