Exciting new Partnership Announced with Kudos Science Trust- Science Spinners Creative Lab and Kudos Science Award Sponsor

One of the Braemar Charitable Trusts core charitable outcomes is the development of medical knowledge. We invest in health sector related professional development, health leadership and encourage secondary and tertiary students to aspire to a career in the health sector. We are therefore proud to be working with the Kudos Science Trust by signing up as a Science Spinners supporter and to help grow the next generation of Scientists and inspire science at a grassroots level. The Trust is sponsoring the “Creative Lab” a one-day programme for Waikato based year 9 & 10 students, enabling them to get practical hands-on learning from some of the Waikato’s world-class scientists and experts in the Medical, Environmental, Food Tech and Sport Science fields. The Science Spinners programme runs over 4 days, giving students a taste of what science is in a practical setting, how it applies to their everyday life and introduces them to some of the careers science can lead to.

In addition to our sponsorship of the Creative Lab, we have set-up the “Braemar Charitable Trust Science Spinners Scholarship Award”.  We will be awarding a $1000 scholarship to a Science Spinners student, past or present who is pursuing a Medical pathway. The aim of this scholarship is to support educational, travel, stationery or tuition costs for further study or acceptance into health or medical courses through any tertiary provider.

Submissions can be made by a teacher, career adviser or principal, with students submitting an essay describing the pathway they are interested in and how this scholarship could help them to reach their goals. Further information is available by contacting: projectmanager@thekudos.org.nz
