Celebrating Matariki

Matariki is a time to nurture our well-being.  It is about taking time to pause, to remember those that have passed, reflect on our learnings and look to the year ahead.

Also known as the Pleiades star cluster, the Matariki constellation and the rising of the star itself, hold great significance for Māori communities, symbolising new beginnings, reflection, and connection. Braemar Charitable Trust would like to honour this ancient tradition by encouraging everyone to spend some time reflecting, resetting, maybe embarking on a personal growth or renewal journey and by spending time with loved ones at this special time of the year. Mānawatia a Matariki — Happy Māori New Year!
